I’d mentioned it in several places over the course of the blog – after the hike we went out on safari for the next eleven days. I think it would be extremely shortsighted if you came all the way to Tanzania and didn’t take advantage of the amazing animals and sites that can be seen, some only a day’s drive from the big mountain.
Over the next eleven days, James and I along with our friends Jay and Dewi would travel through national parks at Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti and Zanzibar, visit the legendary Olduvai Gorge with Louis Leakey’s daughter-in-law Maeve, snorkel in the Indian Ocean, and see amazing animals, birds and fish that can only be seen in this part of the world.

What, no blog regarding your safari adventures? (pouting) C'mon, be a sport! The last trip I took was to Syracuse and, while it was much colder than the Kilimanjaro summit, it wasn't nearly as exciting or blog-worthy.

By the way, I forgot to mention that I like your writing style. Good to know that you are as adept at writing travel blogs as you are at churning out tax requirements. A little more snarky, but just as detailed, eh? ;-)
Maybe I'll do the safari too, although I didn't take too many notes. I was too busy trying to keep track of all the different animals we saw.
